New to Borderlands? Looking for ways to catch up with the level curve? Here’s a list of 5 techniques to up your level:

1.       Do quests- all of them! This one may seem obvious, but the nearest well for experience is that local quest board.
2.       Get your higher-level friends to power level you. Have them host a game and start at the Eridian Promontory. Join in and sit back while they run ahead and kill enemies- you’ll tear through levels in no time.
3.       Grind in Old Haven. This place is full of high-level Crimson Lance soldiers that respawn very quickly. An hour spent there is a bucketful of exp you won’t ever have to get again.
4.       Play in a group. The difficulty and reward curve is ramped up in a 4-player game, which brings you more exp at a faster rate.
5.       Haul arse! I don’t recommend this one- there’s a lot to see and enjoy in the game. But, if you’re serious about leveling up, sprint everywhere, skip cutscenes and dialogue, and shoot hard and fast.

So, if you’re starting a new character or you just need a few sure-fire methods for leveling, the above list is a tried-and-true method by many players.  Happy hunting!

another one

6.           Challenges.   If you enter you character and hit select and go to your mission log screen, you can actually change it to a challenge screen and completing these help give bonus XP that might just be what you need to hit the next level

Ah, ya! I'd already completed

Ah, ya! I'd already completed all them, so I forgot about those. Very good.

Old Haven secrets

#3 is defiinitely a place where a guy can collect huge exp.  BUT, yesterday, a newbie played alongside me.  We decided to go into Old Haven (2nd playthrough).  Yes, as you can guess, bam bam bam, bom bom bom, and his Siren went from Lvl Zero to Ten  in under 30 mins.  Of course, Siren was just kickin' back while I did the work, but it was fun to see "leveling up" done at such an exponentially quick time.

I don't recommend this for all, but if newbies want an "easier life" to begin their Pandora struggle, this can surely be a easy solution.  BUT OF COURSE, you gotta find that Lvl 50 player to do it :)
