Aliens
So we have all heard about Alien guns, but what about aiens themselves? There has to be some way for the guns to get to the pandora, so I was wondering what you guys thought the importance of them was, or what they'll do. Also sdorry if their was already a topic of this, I didn't see one when I searched.
even if in the vault theres only the alien weapons, they got there somehow, no?
i think that they flew onto pandora with ships and maybe you could find one and fly it ? :O
The aliens built the vault and you have to go into the vault. My guess is there's going to be some in there and they are not going to like your visit.
After the vault was opened, there was a whole civilization down there that the aliens built to escape the harsh enviroment of the planet? Rapture style......everything else was just a prologue......good way to start a trilogy I think, or at very least lead to a sequal.
There's alot of ways they could spin the plot. Hunting for the "vault" is a great plot device for a game like this. The difficult thing with these types of games is having the story ruined for you by other players who have already gotten past the part in question, I'm wondering if they might do something more focused on the coolness of the vault itself rather then an unexpected twist... Although, since you're not crowded into the cities with other players, you only really play with whoever joins up to coop with you, it might not be as big of an issue.
If I tried to postulate at sequal/trilogy plotlines, I'd just be throwing darts up into the air. We'll have to see. Although, generally speaking, the story takes place on a "fringe world" of some sort of human empire, I'm sure there is TONNES of space in such a universe for interacting plots. Maby at some point we get to play with space/high altitude spacecraft combat in a future Borderlands skipping between different fringe worlds and abandonded planets hunting down alien technology with our new found vault knowledge. Or travel to the center of the empire and solve some sort of policatical conflict (with guns, lots of guns). It's possible you could be put in the center of what is more a war, and less a wilderness. Who knows.
It was a "long extinct" alien race. (I could be wrong, but I remember that line somewhere).
Thanks guys :) keep up the info, I'm looking online atm for anythign related to ehm. little stuck right now at just info from the guns line. about alien guns.
I had the same sense... but I can't remember a source to indicate it. Although, it's entirely possible they are trying to keep the twist ending under wraps until the game ships as well.
It's possible that they'll pull a Coecelanth. I guess that it's possible that there is a top-secret Ilos-like settlement on Pandora.
What I was kinda getting at in a round about fashion is that maybe the "vault" was misinterpreted by the people that had originally found it (but were desrtoyed by the protective force). Maybe its less of a vault and more of a bomb shelter.......I mean look at Fallout 3, they called those shelters 'vaults' as well. They say that the planet itself is uninhabitable, but with all the mines that are in the mountains, something invested time into it. The publishers even say that they aliens mysteriously disappeared, that kind of implies that there will be a form of twist with the whereabouts of the aliens. Look at BioShock, they had some AMAZING plot twists in there.

I personally think it has to do with the vault. When you get past the vault it opens up the alien weapons. That's just my guess. They haven't announced anything alien asside from rakks and rhinogina.
