Best Soldier Skill Tree
What is the best skill tree setup for a soldier?
I'm setting my guy up sort of like the first link posted, even though I'm playing with friends.
My guy does WORK with a shotty. Love me so CQB!
I went all-out turret, with the exception of enhancing my shotgun damage; so pretty much I made a DPS build that is heavily reliant on my turret pumping out some hurt. A well built and well placed turret has cleaned out whole rooms for me in Playthrough 1 and 2. An added bonus to a turret build is that many of the mods you find will up the Barrage skill, which adds more bullets per burst. I have one that adds +4 to Barrage, which I have maxed out with skill points. I haven't been proven otherwise and I only have my game experience as proof, but it appears that my turret is pumping out 9 Level 4 Elemental shots out per burst. Big meaty bosses like Skagzilla, the Rakk Hive, and the big doof in Sledge's Safehouse really don't like that competitive advantage that I enjoy.
Edit: For healing, since I have little reason to use money, I buy health kits and use those variety of grenades that steal health from enemies. They're called Trans-something.
Edit: Lol, didn't answer your question directly. I would argue that the Supply Tree is AMAZING for new characters or for those with underpowered weapons; essentially, for those who are just starting it in either Playthrough. Having that constant flow of ammo can really help in long, drawn out fights and prevent you from using a less-than-optimal weapon or a weapon in which you have a low skill rating. In teamplay, unless you're playing with three other Bricks that are all melee, that ammo boost will be enjoyed. Furthermore, I feel that the turret is the largest contributor to Soldier DPS; the trees are arranged to augment this Action Skill substantially. Many points in Barrage will help once you have Elemental augmentations.
I maintain that the Supply Tree should be the core tree to start with and from there you either choose to cause more damage and invest in the Infantry Tree or heal your teammates and invest in the Medic Tree.
Edit: Concerning the cooldown reduction skill, it cuts the cooldown in half. If you are really interested in putting your turret out as much as possible, then invest in that skill as well as the skill that further decreases the cooldown as you shoot enemies.
When I first started playing, I immediately went into the medic tree. At lvl 25 I had a setup like this:

I'm thinking I might put the 5 points into Grit though, but my thinking was that bullet damage isn't the only damage type, so when I'm fighting everything other than bandits, I'm missing out on damage reduction. A 70% chance of revival with Revive only if my turret is out doesn't really offer anything either when I'm playing solo or with a friend. Tough call.
I think for end-game I'd be more inclined to use this build:

There isn't truly a "best" skill tree for any class, as it all comes down to opinion.
This skill tree seems to work great for me in single player, though other skills might be more important in co-op.

This brings a question to mind for me. Do you guys think Stockpile, or Deploy is more important?
I dont even have the game but i will certainly buy it soon and i came out with this, since I have never played is it viable?

I want to solo without problem but i also want to be able to heal allies. I would start to upgrade my soldier side and quickly go for cauterize once satisfied with dps. I am more of an assault rifle and long/mid wpn user.
What do you guys think?
Which is the most interesting? cauterize or stat? (knowing i am interested in grit anyway and it wont be a problem to spend points to unlock stat )

Frankly, Medics are overrated if every soldier has the health boost and cauterize, then no medic-only soldiers are necesary. My soldier build focuses on the turret to deal out as much damage, and cooldown as fast as possible. This coupled with a support gunner mod for solo play will give you ammo regeneration and DPS such that you wont need other medic stats.
Trying to clarify a skill.
DEPLOY = Cooldown Reduction -100%
Does this mean you have NO cooldown or does this mean that instead of a cooldown rate of 1 point per 1 second that your rate is 2 points per 1 second, effectively cutting your cooldown time in half?
Well, here is what i am using right now:

This tree is more of a single-player scorpio turret based skill tree. it works well, seeing how powerful the turret is. this is NOT a medic tree. this class works well in single player, and as a support tree, this works well in online (or split screen) multiplayer. one thing. you dont have to use this while you're leveling up, but rather play around with your skills untill you reach around level 40-50 so you have a nice amount of points saved up. but- Fitness and Overload are really helpful- so look into that.
This build is for people who play with a party but still want to be able to be a power hungry killer. so by doing this build, it allows your sentry to be decently built, You to heal your party and the rest is reserved to you if you are using a SMG or Combat Riffle.
It Helps me a lot, especially in the Underdome. just at least try to get a mod that gives you ammo regeneration.

But if you end up beating the underdome (if you even bought the add on) then, when you recive the extra skill points, add 2 skill points to the "Stat" skill and the rest to the "Grit" Skill

there really isnt a best skill tree setup in general.
overall its opinion

this build is good for survivability in single player.
Your turret will be pretty damaging, and will recharge relatively quick, if you dont want assault rifles, change to shotties.
If the damage of the turret isnt all that important, switch the missile with the shield regen from support, or the health turret.
even without the health turret, youll regen a good chunk of health from killing bad guys, but you wont be able to get that skill till at least level 25. this is just one quick build i slapped up, since i mainly plan for lillith builds as she is one of the most diverse classes, the soldier being the next. i've found to soldier is the most self reliant, being able to heal himself, provide cover with a turret, and if playing coop can heal team mates.

this would be my preferred medic build, it enables you to stay in the fight, you heal with bullets, your turret heals, and when you kill something, anything within the radius gets healed. over all its a solid healing build, you could swap barrage with quick charge, but i would figure the extra 5 shots per burst would help you kill, keeping up radius heal. You would never have to worry about the turret recharging because of a 100% cooldown reduction. And if ammo ever becomes a problem swap out Overload with Stockpile so you can regen ammo, but i do know there are guns that regen ammo to begin with. plus ammo drops a lot. Overload would just allow you to heal more per clip.
