I personally love them in every ww2 game I play.

Nothing more embarrissing than getting killed by one and nothing more satisfying than killing someone at long range without a scope.

I suppose, as there would have to be variation in the mechanisms.

a kar 98k with a meaty biohazard canister would be nice.

 It would be pretty

 It would be pretty cool.

 Some psycology coming in here.

It is a humans natural instinct to side with the underdog, as this gives you a reason to feel proud if you succeed, or a way to have a lot of bloody fun failing.

...but I still feel that bolt

...but I still feel that bolt actions would be well beyond obsolete by the time this game takes place. As far as I'm concerned the bolt action rifle has been obsolete since the first world war and the fact that the Axis Powers used them as extensively as they did in WWII is a big part of why we kicked their ass, and the stalemate between the Germans on the Russian front and the Russians was due in part to dated weaponry. However I do value the accuracy and simplicity of bolt actions, my prized bolt action is a mint 1910 Carl Gustav Swedish Mauser chambered in 6.5 x 55. although it is nearly 100 years old it is more than capable of firing sub moa groups at 1000 yds with mid century target sights so I am not questioning the effectiveness of bolt actions just their practicality. The problem with bolt actions is that after every round you must cycle the the bolt causing you to lose your sight picture and then spending more time to re-aim. Meanwhile the enemy with the "new" technology of a semiautomatic rifle has a much quicker follow up shot and therefore it is easier to engage multiple enemies. Im suprised that they put pump actions, lever actions and revolvers in such a futuristic game so to think that there will be bolt action weapons does seem like a real possibility. I too will be using an underdog character setup so for my character I will be using primarily the weapons of Jacobs; mostly revolvers and lever action shotguns, Marushin M1887 shotgun (Terminator 2) anyone?

One weapon that I would like to see is a belt or chain fed pistol for room clearing with an extreme cyclic rate, not that that is underdog.

Sorry for the long read.

No problem, mate.

I see where you are coming from, as the call of duty games make everyone think that every german soldier and his mother had an mp40, which was not the case at all.

Yeah if the Germans had the

Yeah if the Germans had the MP40 and the STG44 in the same numbers as the K98 and early enough in the war the world would most certainly be a different place. A similar case where technology trumps skill was the American Civil War where as you know the north who were better equipped (especially later in the war) sometimes with gatlin guns, better cannons and later breech loading and repeating rifles defeated the south who were less equipped but whom many of them were crack shots who used their marksmanship to help procure food <insert beverly hillbilly joke>.

i could see getting a bolt

i could see getting a bolt action from some poor person in the game who couldnt afford a modern gun.  the planet is supposed to full of poor people who couldnt afford to leave so i dont see why not.  even today our military uses bolt actions as snipers.
