So you heard about Borderlands and want to know more eh? Well you've come to the right website. And now, you've come to the right thread. Here's where you can find out the answers to your basic questions.
Can 2 or more people play as the same class at the same time?
Yes! That's part of what the developers wanted when they aimed for persistent characters. Remember you might all be playing as Roland, for example but not everyone will have worked on the same skills as you. This makes every character different than the others.
Will there be cross-compatibility?
No. This means you will have to force your friend to buy it for the ps3/xbox360/PC like I will be doing. I suggest a gun or a sandwich as means of helping them make the right choice.
Are there melee weapons in Borderlands?
There is one true melee only weapon for each character class. There is also a chance for blades attached to weapons. There are however no pure melee pickups.
When does the game come out?
Borderlands comes out on October 20th in the United States and October 23 everywhere else. America FTW!
Is there a pre-order/ collector's edition set for Borderlands?
As of now, no.
Why did the developers change the art style?
Because the new one looks 100x better.
Can I change my color?
You can change your armor color. That's it.

Not really, you can duel and fight in arenas. There isn't a true PvP. Suck it up and play some Halo or something.
Is are the guns the same?
No, you have a 1 in 17,500,000 chance of finding the same gun. That's a lot.
Do I have to stick with my lame friend who wants to do something else in game?
No, there is no tether so you can ditch your friends whenever you feel like it.
Can I be a much higher level and just fly through the game co-op for my friend?
Yes and no, you will have a much easier time, but the enemies will become greater and tougher with the more people playing in game.
Can I duel-wield guns?
No, you can't.
When is Borderlands 2 coming out?
Who knows? Seriously, Borderlands hasn't even been out for half a year. We ain't got none L4D2 here!
Can I change my vehicle?
The color and weapon are changeable. There are 8 color choices and 2 weapon choices.
What kind of guns are there in the game?
Revolvers, repeaters, snipers, smgs, assault rifles, rocket launchers, shotguns, and eridian weapons. Plus variations on most of them.
Can I mod the game?
Yes. However, I don't advocate using modded anything when playing online, unless with friends.
DLC?
So far, The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned has been released.
And Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot has been announced but not released at the time of this writing.

@ BLG if your talking about the gamestop one they got rid of that, and the best buy, "buy one get one half off" ends before borderlands is realesed soooo.......IDK
PS you should make a really big one of these when the game is realesed and sticky it so we dont get the thousands of new recrut questions that are all the same exact thing

So I honestly believe this thread needs to be promoted to the front page, made into a tab at the top of the page, or at the very least stickied because in the past 2 days, 5 or 6 new threads have been created asking questions that have already been asked and answered multiple times on the site! All of those new threads have also asked questions that have been answered here in this thread. Since very few new people take the time to read the forum threads and look for answers, this thread needs to be somewhere where they can see it. I am seriously tired of seeing poorly typed questions from people who don't want to take the time to find something out for themselves.

At the PvP part
I remember reading that there is a TD(team deathmatch) option in the stadiums,just not 1v1.

Hi
i have got a litle question, i seen my mate firing a combat rifle with a cool sound and i fire mine and it makes a loud sound, he said you have to go to proficeny 50 to do this sound and i did, and it didnt work so if anyone has got this sound on there combat rifle, a sort of sliecnce sound please tell me how you get it, thank you
