Borderlands Hates Me. In Dire Need Of Help...

My brother and I are Borderlands addicts and are dead-set on completely "maxing" the game.
But there is one unbeleivably anoying problem that continues do degrade our beleifs of the existance of Pearlecent weapons.
We Cant Find One.
What have we done to attempt to attain one?
We are on Playthrough 2 (Technically 2.5)
We always Splitscreen because "More People = Harder Enemies, Harder Enemies = Better Loot!"
We are max level, have never moded and play offline.
We have used +# Find Rare Items (Against Proof That These Dont Work) along with +# Scavenge Extra Items.
1: Upwards of 200+ Crawmerax Trips
2: Roughly 50 Armoury Trips
3: Lance Farming (Likely Upwards of 5,000 Lance killed, many being Badass)
4: Searching Every Red/Lance Crate We Find
5: Moxxie's Underdome (Unsure of whether or not we can actualy get them here)
And after all of this effort....
Not A Single Pearlecent.
Are we doing something wrong?
Does the game hate us?
Do Pearlecents even exist...

Oh and only Knoxx provide Cyans you want find them in any of the 2 others DLC nor the main game...

I really lucked up... I found
I really lucked up... I found a pearlescent weapon on my 1st Crawmerax kill (it is posted on the gunopedia page)... Unfotunately that is where the luck ran out for, alas, I have found no more... Still farming though... they do exist. Simply keep at it.

Well 200 Craw's Runs ??? It happened to me once but after 200 Kills I got 3 pearlescent Items/Weapon.
Ok so to be clear, I started some tests but on the 3 tests (Single Player) I only did 1, the most annoying : The Armory (With +2 TFRI Mod) but only opening the LvL61 Red and Lance Chests (so basically half of the place) and it took me 188 runs to get 1 Pearlescent then maybe 10 runs after that get 1 more...
So I guess opening EVERY Chests should be around a 100 runs...
Crawmerax should normally be the same (100 Kills) but as I say it happened once to kill him 200 times before getting any...
But after all these runs they always work by 2 or 3, so once you get one, within the next runs you should have another one and sometimes another another one after few more runs.
When you say Offline don't you mean Online ?
I use to do the Armory with my Siren, ,now I do it with my Soldier, the Scavenger or Catalyst Mod DO brings better Loot.I sure find more Orange (and interesting ones) and valuable Purple with my Siren than with my Soldier...
Now I can see that depending on wich character you choose, the interesting weapons you'll find will be associated with your character weapons bond, like if you want to find the best Chimera around you'll have way more opportunity to find it with your Hunter, You want a nice Ogre farm with your Soldier (although it is still a very rare weapon) etc...
But Yes Cyan weapons are VERY RARE !!! It's supposed to be that rare ! It ain't Orange rarity... And you complain about Cyans but the Blue and Yellows Eridians are even more rare (it took me about 10 cyans before getting one)...
One more thing, I don't Farm Craw anymore (well except if I'm looking for a specific Mod or Shield) cause he DOES'T DROP LvL61 Item, it goes LvL60 Max...
