Announcing The Borderlands Guide PvP Tournament

One of the (few) shortcomings of Borderlands is the relatively limited player-versus-player options. We've decided to do something about it.

Borderlands Guide is starting a player-versus-player ladder to kick off 2010. If you're interested, just post your information in the thread below and read on for how the tournament will work.

This system is a work in progress so everyone is encouraged to post any comments/suggestions.

Also spread the word to your fellow Borderland heros about our system so that we can be assured to have a wide variety of skill and participation. 

REQUIREMENTS TO JOIN

-Have a copy of Borderlands and an internet connection (duh)
-Promise to follow the below rules
-Agree to find a time to meet your combatant online within 5 days of the challenge of the match being announced. If you can't, you will forfeit the match.
-Have fun.

HOW TO JOIN

Post the following information in the thread below:
-System (PS3, 360, or PC)
-Character level, class
-Gamertag information
-The best way to be reached

HOW PLAYERS SUBMIT RESULTS

After the match, both players should return to the Borderlands Guide forums and post the results. A new sub-forum will be created for this purpose.

MODDED WEAPONS & CHARACTERS

Modded weapons and characters are not permitted. Infractions can be punished with automatic losses and in some cases bans.

CHARACTER RESTRICTIONS

At this time, there is only one ladder which is open to characters of any level. If there is suitable demand, additional ladders for character of lower levels will be created.

DUEL RULES

Duels will be best of three.

DUEL LOCATION

The duel location for the first round of matches will be [Arid Badlands - Fyrestone Coliseum]

INITIAL LADDER SEEDINGS

The initial ladder seedings will be determined by a tournament. We will announce the schedule of the tournament after we receive player registrations.
