Claptrap Locations, Questing Section for the Forums
I've played through the game twice now, and made a somewhat disheartening discovery: each claptrap you repair is only good for one backpack SDU, even on subsequent playthroughs.
However, despite being pretty thorough, I don't have what I assume (based on the achievement) is the maximum of 42 inventory slots. In short, I'm missing some claptraps.
I hereby suggest that we get around to documenting the claptrap locations. I'm not sure how many I have (I forget the starting inventory size) but I'm missing 9 inventory slots, or 3 claptraps.
Having made that suggestion, it occurs to me that there isn't currently a section of the forums dedicated to questing problems (in fact, some quest-related problems are already making their way into the Guns and Items section). So...
I hereby suggest that we get around to making a Questing section in the forums.
I feel so official.
Well, BG, I guess I could do that.
I am now officially taking all descriptions of claptrap locations. Feel free to post them here -- although PMing would probably result in a cleaner post when all was said and done, I'd rather avoid wading through a slew of duplicate entries. Upon confirming your findings, I will copy your post to mine on the top (with credit to you) for the sake of keeping things organized. I reserve the right to clean up your entry for the purpose of correcting either mistakes in spelling/grammar or vague/imprecise directions. I also reserve the right to combine the entries of several people into one complete (and hopefully concise) entry (again, with credit to anyone involved). To make my job easier, please include in your description:
1) The name of the zone the claptrap is in
example:
2) A description of where within the map this claptrap is located.
example: "in the town of
If there is no easy point of reference nearby, give directions from the nearest New-U station.
example: "from the
Note that I try to include as many alternate methods of identifying my location as possible, that I don’t begin using “left” or “right” until I’ve gotten from the starting location to another using only the compass, and that I generally favor using the compass over using “left” or “right.” When a point of reference also shows up on the minimap (even as a location in a parallel quest), use it!
3) A description of how to get from the Claptrap to the Repair Kit.
It’s generally less important to be detailed here, as the repair kit will be marked on the minimap. I’m looking for directions from the waypoint/marker if it isn’t accurately marked, or tips on how to get to the repair kit if it’s out of the way. There are several repair kits that can only be collected by climbing on top of something remote and running back to the marker, and several more that are just really hard to reach.
4) Any final tips/pointers regarding your particular Claptrap/Repair Kit.
Put whatever you think is relevant in Section 4. For example, a lot of Claptrap Missions take place in areas with other quests – sometimes it saves time to get the repair kit, then kill a boss/complete another quest before returning to the Claptrap. Also, a lot of the time the revived Claptrap will lead you to and unlock a door concealing some sweet loot. If that’s the case in your Claptrap entry, or if you have other words of wisdom, tell us about it!
Finally, I’m also looking for volunteers with the PC version of the game to provide screenshots of
- the map as it appears when the character is standing next to a fallen claptrap
- crucial points of reference from posted directions
- the Claptraps/Repair Kits as they appear in-game
I’m not necessarily looking for one guy to take care of everything screenshot-wise (although that’d be cool). Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, that would be most excellent if we could start a thread to compile all the Claptrap locations. I nominate this thread ebonobelisk if you're up for keeping it updated.
