The Death Penalty?
I don't remember the PC Gamer Magazine saying anything about what penalty there is for dying. I could see myself letting bandits kill me for a quick ride back to town. What do you guys think?
Ah, I thought they would have had something like a game over thing, in case you didn't save. Or maybe you would lose exp, or items...
Dear gods i hope not! that was always one of my pet peeves on annoyances. Death's that would make you loose stuff.
It needs a small penalty but I hope it doesnt do what Fallout or Oblivion did where you go back to nearest save file.I was also wandering if you can revive team-mates if you are are playing co-op.
yes you can revive team mates when they go down.
Look at Diablo II. They said they'd have an option where you can just plop into another persons world. You don't have "Save files" in that type of universe .You have character data.
i wonder if there will be an option to autosave after ever new weapon or loot you find that way you dont get screwed out of the gun you found right before getting blasted by flaming shotgun shells
Your character might have a penatly in the form of a debuff, but I can almost guarantee the game will NOT revert to save if you die.
It may be like Bioshock where you just go back to town and the penalty is that you have to make your way back to point you wanted to go. And since its an RPG, perhaps your armor takes a form of durability damage that adds a monetary penalty to death
I think a slight, temporary decline in Damage output, Armor ratings, coupled with some money loss might be sufficient. If you were killed, it was probably because the enemy had that gun. You don't want to make it too much marder for the player to get that gun.

In the article, they stated that after dying, they respawned back in town. Wether that was due to the demo or a preset were you respawn in the nearest town is unknown. More then likely, dying is a free ride back to the nearest town. That way would enable you to re-equip yourself with ammo, weaponry, new armor, and what not.
You're not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your f**king khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world.
