Disc Count
Obviously this game is going to be big. (In more than one way of course.)
If TLR was on a Two Disc Compilation, which was considerably smaller than this game will be.
How are they going to fit all of this content onto a single disc?
Unless they are considering downsizing other properties of the game, such as graphics and soundtrack quality.
Now I searched the Forum to see if this was already posted about, and clearly it has not.
I've heard it will be on 4 discs possibly, i can't remember where i heard it so i don't have a source, but i remember hearing something bout it
Damn, 4! im gonna feel like im playin legend of dragoon or final fantasy now. hmm, shows for a long long long long game which i dont mind but... 4! maybe 2 discs but 4 seems like a lot
Maybe for installing o PC, but i doubt for the 360.
That makes no sense. Both would use DVD format, why would the 360 use less?
Personally I'm betting one to two DVD's top. While their may be a lot of 'content', a lot of it is genereated on the fly, not premade and stored.
They could use Blue-Ray disks. They're more expensive, but they hold like 3 times the amount of a DVD.
Seeing I'm going to play it on the PS3, I don't think they'll have a disc space issue with my copy... :)
Yeah but you also have to consider the needs of the other 2/3's of the platforms supporting this game :p
It would make sense being more than 1 disk considering the amount of content. I don't think the guns are procedurally generated in game as they're currently generating them. There would be no point in having an AI generate all of those guns right now if it was just going to generate them again in-game. Unless I'm mistaken, which is entirely possible, that is my impression of things.
Without all of the guns stored on the disk I would see absolutely no reason for more than 1 disk.
the game is massive enough for there to be multiple discs. maybe a weapons disc might be added, idk, thats the only solid thing i can think of , weapons and equipment. it doesnt generate guns in-game i dnt think, ARCELL GARZA, correct me if im wrong.
I can see it now.
"Well, we ran into a problem. Everything fit on one DVD....except the guns. So you're required to install these five extra DVDs onto your HDD. It contains the weapons data. It will come out to about 23GB."

hmm. I think this should be okay for just one disc. Some good compression goes a long way.
