Dissecting The Pre-PAX Borderlands Video
The video with the acid shotgun, pretty much, showed off a fair bit of the menu.
You can't make high quality pics out of a low quality vid, but I think you'll get the gist of it.

I'm guessing it's the status page, where all the numbers are. Pretty much what you would expect from the RPG side of the game.

It's the map. Pretty basic. You are here, symbols, text, that kinda stuff.

Quest status page. Again, what you would expect. Quest name, employer, description, etc.

Most of you are familiar with this. The skill tree, where you invest on what set of skills you have, whether it's for offense, support, or defense.

Last up, what everyone wanted to see, the inventory. You got a set number of slots. Upgradable, of course. Some equip slots for your guns, and your grenades and shields look to have a place in there too.
I'm assuming the text on the left should be the bulk items you're carrying for when you want to trade or sell, and on the right must be your current equipped items
So yeah, that looks like most of the menu there. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong somewhere.
Yeah, I'm assuming in the inventory screen, the text on the left should be the bulk items you're carrying for when you want to trade or sell, and the right must be your current equipped items. (I'll just add that up to the post.)
Yup it is his total inventory. I believe he has 3 pistols and one shield or something in his pocket, then you see a list of ''empty's''.
Does someone knows what it says on the top left of the menu? Under ''inventory'' it says ''backpack 4/12'' or something, I cant get a thing out of it :P.
yea it says backpack 4/12 meaning 4 out the available 12 slots im guessing are taken up. that makes most sense since there are 4 items and 12 slots i believe so yea
Looks like it says "Weapons" right under backpack and the 4/12 would refer to the 12 slots...4 of which are taken up.
Damn...Wasn't fast enough LOL!
hahahahah! i knew someone else was gonna try to answer, beat ya haha :)
LOL! :-)
i think that (and im just guessing) every type of item has its own section of the packpack thing, cuz the total equiped weapons is 5 and the thing says 4/12 so either there are sections of the back pack for different things, like gun pocket, sheild pocket, and so on, or the 5 equiped items dont count to the stuff in the backpack
PS i cant remember how to spell pocket, poket, pokeit, sooooooooooooooooooooooooo i fail :[[
It's pocket. lol
i dunno, maybe. it does kinda look like theres a slider bar at the top of the list, maybe that flips through different tabs. or maybe that c haracter just got dev leveled and never had a chance to upgrade past the newbie backpack. someone should ask maurice if he can clarify that one.
im starting to wonder about the whole shield mod term that keesp getting thrown around. theres only 3 mod slots on that screen. but theres 4 types of 'mod' that we know of. grenade, shield, artifact, and class (also refered to as armor mod).
im also starting to wonder if maybe grenade 'mods' arent really equipped to a slot. im was thinking maybe they are like power-ups, where you grab them and it auto updates your current grenade. that would be pretty handy. it would be a real pain to have to keep juggling grenade mods manually.
or maybe thats how the shields work. you have your basic one, then you find the mods and it just auto updates your basic shield to whatever stats the pickup had. but you dont actually have to sit there and manually equip it to a slot.
im just curious how that all works. it seems like it would be a total pain to have to sort through a bunch of mods on top of guns. and the 3 slots is strange.
i guess it could just be one of those 'trade off' kind of things, where they make you choose which of the mod types to equip.

while looking at the last pic (which i agree seems to be an inventory) i noticed that big list of text on the left. I was thinking that it might be the player's total inventory then the stuff on the right is the imediately accesible stuff. any thoughts?
