Just curious what folks have as their favorite gun scopes. For me, I can think of 3 that I like.

  1. 3.2x Combat Rifle Scope: I love the blocky scope and how it looks. It's one of the reasons I love the sentinel's look. The 3.2x scope is just looks great.
  2. 1.5x Sniper Scope: I'll admit, I love the vertical slit 1.5x Sniper Scope. One of the things I like about it though is I get a bit better side view than most higher powered scopes and it's got a better range than the cheapo 1.0x scopes stapled onto most other snipers. Unique and effective.
  3. 2.4x SMG Scope: Not sure why but the fact that this is a monitor display scope just makes me like it. Also, because it's square, you got a pretty good view of the surroundings. Only downside is in a darker environment, the green 'flicker' of the screen can make it hard to make out what you're shooting at, but overall it's a very solid scope otherwise.

Anyways, that's just my thoughts on my 3 favorite scopes. I figured I'd ask others what scopes they prefer on their weaponry. Discuss!

Sighting Devices

1.  1.8x Sniper scope:  The huge, square, electronic viddy screen is what did it for me.  Also, I find the really small dot on the electronic scopes to be helpful.  Wouldn't it be cool if the rectangular display screen that comes with some of the electronic scopes actually worked?  The zoom limits your perephrial vision so some sort of mini-compass would be helpful for target acquisition.

2.  Highest quality repeater pistol scope:  This thing makes any pistol look way more interesting.  Also, it's the type of scope that came with my Hyperion Invader pistol, which is one of my favorites.

3.  Ring type revolver sight:  Not really a scope but a noteworthy sighting device nonetheless.  I find that some of the iron sights are much better than the scopes for close or medium range combat.  You can reaquire targets with them much more quickly since they don't limit your view.  This is particularly noticeable with shotguns.

Isn't it wierd that sniper rifles scopes usually don't have the best magnifications?  I guess that it's a balancing issue.

The longer range the better.

The longer range the better. I used to like CR but after extensive use i found sniper rifles more suited to the role they are supposed to have. I have one of those BAM BAM BAM rifles, that does similar damage has a better scope and fires 5 round burst with a 15 shot mag with much better accuracy. Because of that i stopped needing CR. Besides when the targets come closer the three round burst shows its weakness, thats were the full automatic Rifles are better suited. I know its an attempt to have a multipurpose rifle but in the end more specialised weaponary does a better job.

I like the 3.9x scopes on Submachine guns, i have one on most of my Subs. Very useful

I prefer all my sniper riflees with 2.4x scopes, i will consider 1.0x scopes if they can be used in close (the Automatic firing Penetrators) but if there slow firing they need atleast a 2.4 scope to compensate. That way you can hit targets at longer distance and avoid most of the return fire.

Shotguns for me dont require scopes,

i do like scopes for my MAchineguns, helps with making the grouping much more closer and you can see better the way the bullets are hitting the target. 1.0x is fine as its for mid range combat anyway
