Favorite Manufacturer

Okay, we know there are Millions of guns in Borderlands, with lots of manufacturers trying to via for your business. So here's the question, what's your favorite manufacturer? You got plenty to choose from.
Tell which one and why.
I'm torn between Torque and Dahl and Atlas.
Dahl's combat rifles just look real cool, Atlas guns are just sleek and shiny and metallic, and Torque is 400 percent MORE AWESOME and not made out of freakin' WOOD!

Thank you, but the design characteristics are missing from some of them. I'm sure those tips in the loading screen can fill those in.

Maliwan Weapons = Elemental Sirens Best Friend
If you are leaning to play as an Elemental Siren I highly recommend Maliwan weapons. Not only do they add rediculous elemental effects and DOT's, I find that they favor SMG's and Shotties as well (always a plus for a Siren).

Tourge Best
Tourge is in my opinion the gun manufacturer in the game followed closely by dahl.
Tourge guns look cool, have high damage and fire rate and their snipers kick the crap out of most.
Dahl gun have good stats and the awesome camos so they come second

Favorite Manufacturer
I'm not sure if I am welcome in this conversation but personally I think that Maliwan weapons are the best because of the elemental damage, I mean you can just let do all the work for you.

I second Torgue. The Detonating Cobra, Steel Anarchy and Bastard rock! Those are three of the best , if not THE best in the game IMO...

After reviewing my weapons
After reviewing my weapons I would have to agree with Dr. Zhivago. Which leads me to my question, which do you rate higher:
- Elemental damage that has a cumulative and ongoing effect; or
- Total Damage and accuracy of a weapon
I'm finding that if a weapon has x4 elemental, I'll choose it over a weapon with, lets say 15% more damage. Simply for the fact that once it hits, it keeps eating away at the enemies health.
Current Guns:
God damn I use a lot of Maliwan, but I suppose that's what I find important! Hey I've got a Dahl and Hyperion in there :)

When it comes to elemental, nothing comes near to Maliwan. The only exceptions are the Rocket Launcher cause all Brand procs the same, Rhinos are really good (they're my favorites) but appart from them I'd go for Torgue, due to their superiority in the Damages area.
You mean Atlas (instead of Dahl)... Yes Ogres are fantastic. As for Hyperion you really get the chance to have the best Stinger in the game...
I was going to post this in another thread, but it might fit with the topic here: the loading screen tips sometimes discuss the various manufacturers in the game and how they build their guns. For example, I remember seeing a tip from a video that weapons made by Jakobs are all about high damage. Maliwan's guns tend to be about elemental effects. etc.
Could someone post them? That would be awesome and enlightening.
Back on topic,, I think I like Jakobs. I actually like their use of rare wood- it's a sign of craftmanship and quality. More important and practical, their guns are about damage more than anything else. However, that'll probably change once I get the game on the 30th and try things myself.
