I need some advice on how to kill off Sledge!

Hi, I'm new to this site! But anyways, I need some help on how to kill Sledge.
My character is Lilith and she's a level 17. The guns that I'm using are AX Incendiary Law (70 damage), GGN9 Detonating Sniper (112 damage), and a SG15 Terrible Shotgun (49 damage x11). I do have transfusion grenades that really help bring down Sledge's sheild down. But after that, I forgot how to kill him. xD
Can anybody help me out?

just dont forget that your a vault hunter with special skills.... try to use your skill to get behind him as much as possible.
also dont give up on borderlands, theres always co-op that you can turn to.

Use an SMG it's lilith's
Use an SMG it's lilith's specialty. There's a couple of vending machines out front....make sure you have enough ammo. A good SMG will take him down very quick. There is also a medic vending machine there check your shield and if there is a better one buy it. When you're in danger just use your phasewalk don't stop moving, he's not very fast. Good Luck.

Shock him
I have one advice: stay out of his front arc.
If Sledge can see you and you're close by he'll use some kind of powerful melee-strike. That one nearly got me, although I was making good use of Rolands Scorpio.
His shotgun is nothing to worry about since it's got an accuracy.. well, never mind. The only good thing on Sledge's gun is that the bullets go forward!

stand in the doorway
here is my strategy... i lured him to the doorway that you come into and if he is near it he wont generally come around the corner ( i dont think he could fit thru that door anyway)... he kinda gets stuck so just stand in the door way and blast him in the arm,... be patient and youll get him... so far ive noticed that all the bosses have an environmental hack you can kind of take advantage of...

Line Of Sight.
here's how i did it.
first, kill all the adds. hope that you don't get a 'badass psycho' like i did, he was a bastard to bring down.
get his attention, then run around a corner. he'll follow, but he walks pretty slowly.
when he's just around the corner from you, say, six to ten feet from the corner, pop out and shoot him in the face a few times, then duck back around the corner. this annoys him, and he whips out his sledgehammer, which hits really hard and has an area effect. the trick is here -- if the point where the sledge hits the ground is out of line of sight of you, you won't take any damage.
wait til you see the shockwave go by, then pop out and shoot him in the face some more. he'll react the same way, without moving a step -- so you duck back around the corner, etc etc until he's dead.
you could thinkably shoot him anywhere, of course, but this is a bit more reliable than hoping that he bugs in a doorway.

Hit with some form of shock
Hit with some form of shock modded weapon to knock out his shield, othewise you'll just be wasting bullets. Stock up on healing items from the med vendor.
If you're still having trouble, run around outside till you Ding lvl 18!

Leapin' Lizards!
The main tactic you want to use is everytime he goes to swing his maul, make like David Lee Roth and JUMP! If you're in the air, you'll take no damage from his ground-pound, Use Shock weapons (like your Shock Artifact & Phase skill) initially to wipe out his shields, and then just blow his face off. Save Transfusion grenades for healing, and taking out his goon squad, though of course it does help damage him.
Know that Sledge isn't affected himself by elements like Incendiary, Acid (not that you probably have it yet) and Shock, so don't rely on those weapons except Shock for his shields. But I believe Explosive works fine.
Man, I got SO lucky last night. At the vending machines outside his place, the shop items had JUST changed, and now there was a NASTY shotgun that did incredible damage, had a nice clip, and fast fire rate. I was playing the Soldier ("Leroy Biggs" <g>), with Shock artifact ready, and maxed out Sentry & Impact skills. As soon as I entered his room, I dropped the turret then starting blasting. I only got put down once by a Psycho from behind but quickly got up again after wasting it, and put Sledge down easier than any of my other characaters had. Never got killed at all. The shotgun I bought was so good, I sold Sledge's and kept the Good one. I call it my Shoutgun. heh

run around him and aim for the head(preferably the shotgun at close range) and shoot the random enemies when you're down.
