I regularly watch the Game Trailers invisible walls segments, it's a great segment of guys who both know what they're doing when it comes to reviewing games, and know the video game industry inside and out.  In a recent episode they mentioned Boarderlands.

Honestly, this really freaks me out, I've said a million times boarderlands can be a great game, but it needs to feel right, and apparently the accuracy of the guns was a big issue still in the preview builds.  "The game still needs alot of work" and "I wouldn't be suprized if we got an email soon saying BL is delayed".

I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope this is not a case of GearBox rushing this project out the door.  This game has the potential to be the flag bearer for procedurally generated game content, but it has to be REALLY fun to play, and it has to feel right while you're playing it.

I'm crossing my fingers that Gearbox has fixes for this stuff on the table already, but I read a recent interview by someone saying that the game is basically finalized and they aren't making those kind of changes any more, so I'm not sure.  If the game doesn't get good reviews I really don't think I can rationalize putting the money down for it.  I probably won't be preordering now based on what was said here.

I felt the same way, but

I felt the same way, but I think bad press needs to be discussed as thouroughly or more thouroughly than good press, expecially when it's from a reliable source as such.

That made me cringe a bit....

Please let Hellgate London never happen again...

I know for a fact I'll still have it preodered (If steam will Bloody put it up) And I'll still be buying and playing day it comes out, and everything I've seen is gold but.... Can I just please have one game with no major flaws? >.>

I'm not going to decide not

I'm not going to decide not to buy the game based on 1 minute of audio, but it has made me think that I need to read the reviews after the game comes out rather than just preordering it and jumping on it.  I'm with Shirow, I don't want another hellgate, a game with SO much potential that just isn't that much fun because it lacks in polish and is full of bugs and bad systemic designs.

Player Skill

Maybe he just sucked at shooting things?  I mean if it's simply an issue of  tweaking balance on weapons, especially something like accuracy, I wouldn't worry too much.  I'm sure they could adjust that kind of thing fairly quickly.

I was reading about this and

I was reading about this and watched it when it first came out. First of all, it's pretty clear that these guys are complete Infinity Ward fanboys and couldn't care less about anything that isn't MW2. They claim they played the game enough to max out the sniping skill and still "couldn't hit shit" and stated that the aiming was "atrocious". This contradicts what literally every single other source that has mentioned the combat/aiming has said, which is that the shooting and aiming mechanics feel as good and solid as any CoD game. It sounds to me like these Invisible Walls guys are either completely lying about their experience, or they don't care to know enough about what Borderlands actually is to give it fair judgement. Could even be both. A GBX dev ( I believe it was Ennui) said on the official forums that the alotted demo time for press does not give them near enough time to max out any skills and also notes how all the press has said the exact opposite from what the IW guys say. There is a difference between fair, unbiased bad press and complete and utter bullshit. This is the latter. Invinisble Walls is not a legitimate source for information. Their immaturity and ignorance towards anything other than big, overhyped sequels should prove that. There's nothing to worry about here. Since when has a Gearbox game ever had bad shooting? I thought you guys would've seen through this shit more.

@OneKillWonder

You do have a good point there.  I didn't watch the entire thing but what I did they did speak highly of MW2 and L4D and kind of shit on everything else.  Gearbox has done shooters before and I'd be pretty surprised if they messed up the gameplay on a genre that's fairly set in stone on that issue.

I agree

With Fox I mean, or rather Arcell.  Gearbox is good at shooters.  I don't see a reason for them to screw this one up.

that statement was so one

that statement was so one sided and incomplete. it was no better than a one-liner troll post on mmorpg.com.

i think that if there was some kind of issue with the aiming or gameplay, it would have popped up on one of the other dozens of previews by now.
