same happened to me, it shut off after I finished the main quests. I want it back although the one time I was able to use it there wasn't even one Jakobs item available for sale!

@ MaxPat

The same exact thing happened to me. It won't work anymore and the one time I used it there was not a single Jakobs gun!

Same thing here. It's

Same thing here. It's depressing since it makes that area sort of cool since it's two decent gun vendors within 10 feet of each other. Plus, it's cool hearing a different voice from a gun vendor.

Then one day Strangefolk arrived in the town. They came in camouflage, hidden behind dark glasses, but no one noticed them: they only saw shadows. You see, without the Truth of the Eyes, the Happyfolk were blind.

disappointment upon disappointment upon ANGER

When I first realized that there was a Jacobs brand vending machine I was ecstatic.  With a whole vending machine that randomly generated just a single brand of weapons one would be able to purchase some of the best Jacobs weapons POSSIBLE.  Which might be one of the reasons that they didn't make it that way... or maybe they didn't want to modify the way weapons are randomly generated, that's probably pretty complex...

ANYWAYS, the machine is completely pointless aside from providing us with another vendor on playthrough 2.5.  It sells much higher level weapons than other vendors do on your 1st and 2nd playthrough but that's actually a problem.  Not only could I not use the weapons for another 20 levels with my newly created character but I couldn't afford them either.

When the vending machine actually REFUSED to work when I came back to it...that...that really kind of pissed me off.

I -wish- I had wood...

Yeah, the same thing happened to me last night, before I even got to partake of the machine's inventory. I had just completed the quest to activate it, and like you others, it had anything BUT Jacob's to offer. Mostly Dahl and it even had a Hunter's Class Mod (though crappy, plus I'm a Soldier), but still I looked forward to another and different type of mod & weapon vendor.

But the next time I went to use it, the only thing working is the "eye-like" light. It doesn't even have the power coupling (or whatever it was) that I fetched to activate it. ... Which might be part of the problem. I check back on the little man in the boat <insert clitoral reference here>, and he was empty-handed.

As the kids today say, "Whatta rip!"
