Kotaku Borderlands Review
Pretty good review. But here's what gets me. The reviewer mentions that he's only spent about 22 hours in the game but has a level 35 character. Is this person full of shit or is this game really THAT much shorter than what Gearbox is claiming? I was really hoping it WOULD take close to 100 hours to hit the level cap with a character. But it sounds like you can get through most of the game, side quests and all, in a relatively short time.
No, the Kotaku reviewer isn't full of ****. This is about the same that Giantbomb reported where it took about 20 hours to beat the game the first time and about 35 total hours to get up to Lvl 50.
Yeah, all of the other reviews seem to say the same thing. Now I know developers often exaggerate the length of their games, but wow...this is beyond exaggeration. It's also a massive dissapointment. Such a shame.
Even if it "only" takes 35 hours to hit the lvl cap thats still 3 to 4 times longer than your average AAA title and thats only if you're focusing one character, I plan on having at least two characters and i'll definitely want to try all four classes, and that's all before dlc. So I'm not too concerned about getting my monies worth.
from the extensive stream from brandon505 . it took him around 40 hours to beat the game. and reach lvl 35. seeing how the lvl gets crazy long after that id say it will take approx 70-80 hours to get 50 and beat the game twice with all side quest done...
Maybe 90 because of the harder enemies.
I don't think it's possible for it to take that long since it's entirely possible to do it in less than half that time. Though I realize it's a reviewers job to get through the game as fast as possible in order to make the review deadline. I plan on spending a lot of time in this game. It seems like the playthrough times may vary from person to person. I was just really hoping I could sink more time into one playthrough than I could in a single Fallout 3 game.

Seems like a pretty fair review although he said the game got "boring" after a while...
I dont know about you guys but, If I feel like I'm forced to play a game (to write a review) for an extended period of time, a game can feel monotonous and/or repetetive.!
Alot of these reviewers are giving their personal opinion and not necesarrily what's in the game, I hate when reviewers do that because it makes deciding on games harder. I have a lot of games I think are near-perfect that alot of reviewers seem to hate.
all in all though great review and it shows alot of the good points of the game :)
