the skill tree's make me sad cuz you need 105 skill points but they only give you 46 for 50 levels

:( no maximum build

makes sense

I mean it be to easy if u can get them all I mean  be cheap. You would have great health and high attack. The whole point of the a build is  how you will build your character differently from someone else.

Is it true that you could change your build when you want?

So you would rather have all

So you would rather have all your characters turn out the same rather than make each one different every play through? Yeah...that would be awesome...

Well i think that its a gd

Well i think that its a gd idea mate, not only having a unique character, it also makes u want to paly the game again and fill up all those skill trees (replay valueX2) :)

no see now some you dont get what I'm sayin

I am a huge RPG fan

But what I iz sayin is why can't we, after beating the game as our level 50 character, be able to start again as a more free gameplay with more levels including the more skill points needed to max your character

No matter what my Rolands are all goin to be black guys that can set down turrets and heal teammates, so why not make a max build just once?

I don't think it'd impede on the gameplay and replay value, I mean I just maxed ONE class out of FOUR, it's not like im restricted to one class

No, but the way it's set up

No, but the way it's set up allows for drastically different builds of THE SAME class. If you're going to max out the skill tree, why bother even putting it in the game? Just make it automatic behind the scenes. Every character's going to turn out the same anyway.

Skill Tree

The purpose of a skill tree is to create a unique character and to have diverse groups.  They were put there so that each character will be slightly different.

You obviously haven't looked at the skills trees if you think that no matter who plays Roland he'll always be a guy that sets up turrets and heals.  Each skill tree has unique abilities that make playing with him different, especially when it comes down to the turret.  Depending on which path you take the turret can be optimized for offense, support or healing.  Since you can't fully max out more than 1 tree there are many possibilities for Roland: Full heal part support, Full support part offense, Full offense part heal, etc...

If the devs wanted you to max out all skills then they'd have used a different set-up for acquiring skills.  Also if you end up not liking a build at least you can reset the points.

@ plastikspoon

Yeah, but the big thing they DIDN'T want in the game was a "clone trooper effect", where all the people's Rolands were the same, the Mordecais, ect..

skill tree

At first glance of it I was pretty heated but, after thinking about it I'm glad for the way it has been done.  The game has ton's of play time so combine that with the skill tree and potential for changes, that just adds to the enjoyment of it in my books.
