number of guns confusion

I've heard the 1 million figure thrown around a bit...  Maby refering to >1,000,000 weapons in total?  650,000 guns as last confirmed, plus X # of melee weapons, plus Y # of grenades, and maby counting weaponlike vech mounts?

At 650,000 guns, IMO they don't really need more in terms of #.  I wouldn't be mad if there are more, but 650,000 is already more than enough to have 40 improving variations of every conceivable firearms class I can think of, and then some.

Different articles say different things with different wording. The one million count you mention Fokylex comes from an August 2008 Dallas Morning News article which says "Gearbox boasts the game will feature as many as 1 million different weapon combos in the final version."

Note the wording though. It only says the game might feature that many. That count could also include melee weapons.

650k seems to be the most widely accepted number we have right now.

I cheat though. I've just started referring obliquely to the "hundreds of thousands" of guns in Borderlands. Ah, vagueness. You've helped me avoid being wrong so many times.
