No skill points after leveling up

i just downloaded borderlands for the pc from a torrent unfortnatly but everything seems to work great no erreors no lags no glitches but it seems when ever i level up i do not get any skill points does anyone have a fix?

Level makes difference...
If your just starting, you won't get any skill points till level 5. Also, I recall you downloaded the game by torrent, which means there's a chance you might have NOT received the whole game, or there are files missing or corrupted. I play the XBOX 360 version, so I'm not sure of it.

He's right.
But remember, torrents are not really that reliable because there's a good chance one small file can corrupt and ruin your whole game. But because you are already in the game, and you probably got no error message whatsoever, there shouldn't be a problem. If things still don't work, just go to the Config files in the Data folder in Borderlands, and mess around with the Default.ini file (remember to make a back up just in case you screw something up). In fact, in that same file, you can do a bunch of things that make you super powerful that probably shouldn't be mentioned here because like all forums, they don't really promote hacking or glitching in any way. Just go on Google and search for it. Maybe you can manually add the points everytime you level (I know it sounds like a hassle and I'm sure it is...)
Still, if everything is working fine by now, and the game runs fairly smoothly (unlike the stupid mac port where even with my newest model of the best specs of a macbook pro, decked out with the most presteigeous hardware, it still lags if I put the graphics to medium-max.) Sigh... for me to play smoothly, I have to set it to low everything D:
Anyways, if everything is working by now, just keep playing. Come back when you get to level 5 and still haven't gotten any skill points.
What Level are you ? As to starting the game you won't get any til LvL5 if I recall...
