Yeah but they are the ONLY things you can interact with in the game. When i first saw them i thought they were kinda cute and funny. But now they are everywhere and so un-funny and over played lines...just annoying the hell out of me. Reminds me of Jim Carry.
If there was something else to interact with other than the same claptrap of differnt color it would be ok, but i can only hear the same voice on the same robot for so many hours...I think im moreso having a gripe at how dead the game feels. Most games these days you can interact with everything. You see that can on teh ground? You shoot it it goes flying! In this game it doesnt. Even the people dont do anything. The only thing besides enemy NPC's that does anything are these annoying bloody claptraps! And thier name...sounds like something id call my ex girlfriend.
Seriously they need to pull what star wars did with jar-jar binks and put this annoying little bugger on the sidelines. RPG's should have an interactive environment including NPC's and mean...look at games like Fallout 3 and Oblivion....they are alive with communitys of NPC's all with personality and querks.

I stood and basked in the glow of the decimated CL4P TP's in the Enclave ...a very peacful room once you sort out the only still wheeling CL4P TP
I love the little buggers ...and I'd love to be able to hunt them across Pandora most of all = )

At first I did'nt really mind
At first I did'nt really mind them, and would stop to hear what they were saying.
..but now that I'm lvl33, everytime I go into town, they bug me ever so slightly.
"I..can't..breaaathe!!" "ThetravelerwillprotectmeThetravelerwillprotectmeThetravelerwillprotectme", etc. If they did'nt talk so frequently, and their little quips were a rarity, it would be cuter and more endearing, because you would'nt hear it every 20 seconds.
It's like having a kitten that meows..constantly. The first five minutes is cute, but at 3am you're wondering why God hates you.

Lol...Mario is a classic, and Master Chief is just downright bad@ss. You cant possibly compare them to these claptraps. Seriously, having claptraps be thier signature "character" for the game is doing more harm than good. I could live with it if there was something, ANYTHING else that was some form of character in the game. And maybe if these claptraps wernt EVERYWHERE, the main menu sreen, every single town you go to, every area...hell even if they arnt around they will pop up and tell you over and over there are new bountys ectectect...Seriously this character must have been a sick joke from one of the dev that smoked too many rocks instead of making actual game content.
Everything about them, thier voice, the things they say, and thier name, is retarded. Seriously it sounds like some kinda STD phrase i would hear at the bar or something. "Dude that girl is a claptrap".

Dead World
Well one could say the dead world has much to do with the actual story. When Spring on Pandora came and all the nasty creatures came out of hiding, anyone with half a brain and a few bucks jumped ship. Those who are left are either batshit crazy (Tannis), poor (most other NPC's you see), or criminals (bandits).
Now given I'd think there would be more people left than just that. Also Claptraps aren't the ONLY thing you can interact with. I mean you've got some NPC's that give you quests and the Bounty Boards too :p
The only time Claptraps annoyed me was during the opening tutorial when I went to go do something else real quick and he got stuck on an "Over here!" loop until I came back. Otherwise they're quite funny I think. It would be nice if they gave them a few more lines for the sake of variation in upcoming DLC though.
