Pearlscent / Ivory Weapons.

First, If anyone has any pictures of some, I'd like to see them. I've only seen like.. three recorded pearl weapons and one of them actually wasn't that good despire them being the 'TRUE legendaries'
Second, Which one is it? Pearlscent or Ivory? For some odd reason it is listed as Ivory under the borderlands wikia.

I actually found my first two
I actually found my first two Pearlescent guns today, within about 10 or 15 minutes of each other. I'm on my second playthrough. The first one I found was a Pearl Cyclops Sniper Rifle that did 421 damage and has a massive 3.2x Zoom scope. I found it on the way out of Sledge's Safehouse. I actually thought it was a really powerful combat rifle before I picked it up because of how big and bulky it was. The second one I got was from turning in the Sniper Rifle Scavenger quest. It's just a weaker version of the EXACT same one I had just gotten. It does 352 damage rather than 421. Thing is, I have a green Liquid Sniper that does 498 damage and fires much faster, so I don't really have a need for either of them.

Maybe I missed something, but
Maybe I missed something, but Gearbox still hasn't said anything regarding the "Pearl" weapons correct? I'm not here just to put down other peoples' ideas, but I'm pretty sure there's evidence that shows that "Pearlescent" weapons don't exist, and that it's just a bug in the code that incorrectly colors their name white. There are seven rarities in the game: white<green<blue<purple<yellow<orange<dark orange; that rules out "Pearlescent" as an actual rarity.

My theory is just that the supposed "rare" whites are just whites that have orange text, so they get bumped up the list.

I thought that too at first, but since some of the "Pearl" weapons are pretty good, I now believe that they are legendary weapons that, for some reason, are bugged/glitched to have their names written in white. I wish Gearbox would just make a statement to clarify it so we don't waste more of our time arguing about them.

The dev's have said that orange is the rarest. The loading screen to the game says orange is the rarest. Odds are good that 'pearl' weapons are just legendaries that did'nt get colored correctly.
I've found shotguns that shoot rockets, and their flavor text is never red, it's white; I almost sold the first one I found because the flavor text did'nt stand out from all the other random weapon bonuses. Yet again, just another little bug, no biggie.
Besides, Pearl or not, if the stats suck, who cares? Even if it's rare, it's still just a rare piece of crap. =]

Too right
I definetly agree with Shelv on his last point. The color of my weapons dont bother me at all, as long as the stats are the best combination that i can find. Other than bragging rights that is. The only other nice thing about crap rares are that they sell better than crap normals.

i have 2 pearl wepens ones a
i have 2 pearl wepens ones a pistel it has a 9 fire rate but a 63 clip and almost 200 damage its white in lettering but it seems that its a brighter white than normal and its at the top of the list with some red words in the description. then the other one is a snniper with green lettering but it has a 341 damage but its fully auto with a eight clip in the description box it has red words that i think says somthen in frech but even though its green its not at the top of the list so it blends in o ya and the pistel is made by ses munitions

Does any 1 have the ironclad shield or the roes shield
Those shields are the perlencet sheilds i need to get all the perlecents in the new borderlands add on i also need the battle rife to i have ever thing else so i will be able to dup all my other pearls if any 1 here is willing to help please send me a message on my xboxlive account THE BIG E 6 put it in just as spelled thank you for any 1 willing to help!!!

Um does anyone here have the secret armory of general knoxx? because if you did you would know that in the loading screens for that dlc they say to watchout for ultra rare and powerful "pearlescent" weapons. Im taking this to mean that with the new dlc/update pearl weapons are no longer just peices of freak code and can actually be really good, ive even heard of some really good pearl items like a shield with 2.2 k shield health, a rr of 315 and extreme shock resistence (I think that was in a post on this site but im not sure.)
the ONLY pearlcent guns I have fun suck they just have large clips or one thing about them making them a bit odd but they still suck pretty bad for whatever reason ive found 5 or 6 "big tony guns" i call them since there pistols with 65 or so shot clip and they all have the "Big tony says Hi" Discription but still my point - they suck
