Rocket regen Mods???
Hey guys, my roommate and I are fairly new to borderlands we are currently on our 2nd run through. He purchased a +7 launch ammo regen mod and we went out to test it out and found that it is not regenerating any of his launcher ammo. Anyone have problems like this??? What should we do??
There's two ways of regenerating ammo.
The first: You get a bonus on a skill from your tree. These don't work when you don't spend at least one point (although it seems that the Clip Increase for Roland doesn't need points).
The second way is a Regeneration of either a special kind of ammo (i.e. '+4 Assault Rifle Ammo Regeneration') which mainly is only for the one using the Class Mod. OR it gives Ammo Regeneration to the whole team, meaning everyone in the party will benefit (yeah, '+10 Team Ammo Regeneration' makes Lilith smile, I can't fire Rolands bullets faster then they regenerate!!)
I did the exact same thing last night. I bought Brick a Bombadier mod specifically to get at the +7 Launcher Ammo Regeneration, though it has skills boosts too, 1 or 2 of which I don't have yet. But the bottom line is my other characters have bought similar mods and even if they have none of the skills, the ammo regen still works. It has nothing to do with the skills in the mod; they're separate.
In any case, this is a bug. I got so damned pissed, after spending so much for that mod. I've tried everything to try and "kickstart:" it, from emptying out my clip, to travelling to another area, to quitting and restarting. Nothing works. AAARRGGHHH!!!
Uh, I've heard that the +X Launcher ammo mods are broken for Brick. Hopefully they'll be fixed but no word on when that will be.

Rocket Launchers are indeed very effective, especially if you know where to place the shot (at a distance, right in front of your target's feet / running path). They always do Explosive damage for free, even if they do other elements as well. They're literally propelled grenades (RPGs) with nasty blast radii that can take out whole groups, especially with Acid.
Just don't use them, like grenades, at close enough range that you get caught in the blast radius. But no, a skilled character can use nothing but Rocket Launchers for hours on end. I cleared out Old Haven with just that. ... That's where and when I found the Launcher Ammo Regen mod.
But I do agree with you on Burst and Helix launchers. I prefer a straight shooting, lands-where-you-aim-it, regular launcher that does massive damage. In fact Brick came upon this little beauty that does 1,500-someodd damage, has 1.2 fire rate with some increased Fire Rate %, +41% damage, and the most important in my book esp. for Launchers and Sniper Rifles, awesome 4.3x zoom! (oh, and its fun to beat people & critters with)
I understand it even has a built-in beer tap, stereo, and other features like Rodney's golf bag in Caddyshack! hahahahaha
well i guess if you're a beserker it helps... But i'm an hunter and for me my rocket launcher does like maybe 2000... and my sniper does over 6000 after all of my skills and proficency and elemements :/
also my smg had like a 14 fire rate, with 150x4 and like 74 bulllets per clip so yea

Actually those are the base stats for the weapon, and I was wrong, it doesn't have +41% damage... it has +110% damage!!! BLEUGH! If I recall, the launcher's named Devastating Destructor, but it doesn't appear to be a special "name" weapon. Its even white-lettered.
Its great for making chunky salsa... Mmm, great name for a launcher.
In fact, Gearbox, if you're listening, I have a great idea for a DLC add-on or maybe sequel idea. Our characters get very attached to certain weapons. It'd be great if we could rename them, perhaps with a fee to Marcus for the engraving. I"d love to name some of my faves. Another cool idea would be to get your Ride customized by Scooter, and do flame jobs or lightning and the like on the sides, or just that sweet, really dark, shiny red that some weapons are. ("Crimson" ... I think) heh, just thouight of this, or maybe have a "permanent" dead skag on a front corner, ala the opening video. Maybe have a bandit strapped to the hood. hahahaha
Of course, for the real deal, I'd love to be able to custom build weapons, no doubt after havng to go on quests for the required parts like we do already, but each time perhaps the location of the parts would be randomly generated, perhaps across various land areas. This would ultimately be similar to how you can craft your own spells in Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. You'd draw up the plans for a weapon, and that would determine the level limit and, of course, price appropriate to how powerful your make it.
Or, instead of being able to do this at will, have a single quest that you have to go all over to gather information, probably rescue an armorer, then get the parts, to craft your dream weapon. This would be a great level 50 quest from Marcus.
I'd like to see laser scopes added, so you could really go for those criticals with your zoom-a-riffic weapon of choice. ... heh, a Shotgun with 100 Accuracy and zoom like The Reaver. hahahaha Sounds like a Railgun!
Some creatures can slam into you and knock you back. I'd like to see that as a feature added on weapons, that they knock the target back and maybe on his/her/its keister, assuming it survives the attack, it would certainly be stunned. Man, I'd love to blast those Psychos with this!

Well, I had a different character buy a gun, it was a pistol of some type, can't recall more details, but it was supposed to regen ammo too, and it didn't. Luckily it was relatively inexpensive compared to Brick's mod, but still, ya lay yer money out ya expect the advertised results. You know, just like internet dating!
Well I"m happy to report that, since getting the latest game Update, at the same time I was DLing the latest DLC by the way, I found out last night that Brick's previously stored Bombadier mod with the +7 Launcher ammo regen now WORKS!! YEAH!! I think I"ve noticed other fixes too, but don't recall them at the moment.

First of all, what class are you? I believe that the skill you are talking about is from Brick's skill tree. Since you need to have atleast one point in skills for mods to apply, i imagine that might be why it isnt working. Or i may be way of track.
