Salt Flats and Crimson Fastness Unaccessible?

I'm level 34 and I've completed all the side missions except for 2 claptrap repair kit missions and one machine gun scavenger mission, these are located wityhin the Salt Flats and Crimson Fastness. When I drive up to the location marked out on my map, there is a blank wall and a terminal. However I am unable to use the the terminal to get into the area.
I also have "Another Piece of the Puzzle" in Trash Coast to complete. Do I need to beat this to get into these areas?
What's wrong? Why can't I get into these locations?
Yes, you need to first complete Another piece of the puzzle in order to get to salt flats.
