skag pearls

on playthrough 2 i just killed a couple of skags that each dropped 1 skag pearl. I picked them up but they don't appear to be good for anything. I haven't seen these before but surely others must have. I have an idea they are just some meaningless artifact from some minor programming glitch...does anyone know about skag pearls?

it is strange. I picke'd them up but they do not appear in the inventory. there was no other description or information when i picked them up-it just said "skag pearl".

The skag pearl's are quest items for a quest that never was included.
That should answer your question.

I never noticed these things until after I downloaded the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned and I always thought that they were some kind of glitch involving the bloodwing eggs. Do they look the same? I've never been concerned enough to compare them. I'm almost certain that they're worth money though, just like the Marcus bobbleheads.
That's really strange... Does it just look like one of the artifacts? Maybe it's just some random drop that's worth a lot of money at the vendors or something. Do they stay in your inventory and just take up space?
