Ultimate Mod

I appologize if this has been answered before, but I've spent the last few hours scouring the web trying to figure something out.  I play Borderlands on my Mac, and really I just play Single Player for my own fun.  Sometime about a year ago maybe, I was in a multi player game and somebody gave me 2 items.  A turquose shield that had an ungogly ammount of  charge on it, and a green stock combat shotgun that was a one shot god.  

I just started playing the game again a few nights ago, and I was having quite a bit of fun running around single player mode, messing around.  Tonight, I started to look into modding items for myself, and unfortuantely the save files I backed up were the wrong ones.  Long story short, I no longer have those 2 items I mentioned.  

From all the videos I've watched, and reading I've done it doesn't seem like there is a way to create these guns any longer.  In fact, it doesn't seem like that gun and shiled should have even worked after the 1.3 patch.  So, my question is. . . is it still possible to make those items?  If so, how?    I don't want to ruin the game for other people, this is just somethign fun and casual I'd like to do for myself. . . but I'm really not sure if that's even possible anymore.
