upgrading past lvl 50?

is there any way that you can recieve skill points after you've reached lvl 50? cuz i just assumed that after you reached 50 you still recieved XP and when you are supposed to level up you just get a skill point. But i know that i've gotten enough XP to do so but it just keeps on. Anybody?

Uh, YES you can get Weapon Proficiancy points after lvl 50! I'm lvl 50 now and working on increasing my Revolver level.

And Artifiact level can not be leveled past 6

i thought that the next DLC is intending to increase the level cap to 70 or 75 so i have heard

I don't know where you heard that the next DLC is increasing the level cap, but that is not true. However, it is giving 2 additional skill points as quest rewards.

In an interview with GameInformer, Randy Pitchford (co-founder, president, and CEO of Gearbox) said that they're working on the level cap and he "would not be suprised if [they] are able to offer that in the future." He also said that he can't make any promises.
It's in the most recent issue (#201, Jan. 2010). I'd provide a link to the interview on their site, but it's not up apparently.

You cant get skills points after lvl 50 or weapons lvl points after their level 50
