"What borderlands IS missing"

I personally would rather wait for them to make a perfect game and play it then but here is a list of things I think are missing:

-Storage/"Bank" - Store Items that are rare but you don't want to use (like 10101 Cannons and stuff)

-Monster Variety - Most low budget mmorpg's have more monster variety then borderlands, what would be cool is a COMPLETE generation system for monsters.

-Vehicle Customization - 2 cars, 8-10 colors, and 2 gun choices, cmon! Atleast have the ability to upgrade the wepons on the vehicle and add elemental damage.

-Better Navigation - A minimap, waypoint system, and a "satelite" view map would be nice.

-A Vault  - Whoever passed the game understands this.

-Gun Customization - I know, I know, There is 17 Million+ Guns, but for me to find the perfect gun it would take forever. I wish there was "artifacts" and "parts" to buy/loot that would increase fire rate, get elemental damage etc.

-A trading system - I have ALOT of money right now, and I would love to get a nice combat rifle from somebody who has one, but I can't! I can only drop an item and hope they drop theirs...

Post some more guys! Don't get me wrong though, I am really enjoying the game!

If there were parts to add to

If there were parts to add to guns, then there would be no reason to have 17 million guns. The idea is that you might have to sacrifice ROF for power, or Clip size for crit damage, and so on. It adds another level of challenge.

Pack Rat

I agree about the storage/bank. A game that boasts about being a loot hoarder's dream doesn't seem to do much for the hoarder in me, I'd like to keep the rare weapons/mods I find, i know it would be retarded to save 17 million plus guns and items but it would nice to have a "collection" of my fav's.

Ya there is alot of things

Ya there is alot of things they could of added to make it better, but me personally, i can't complain the replay value to me is high because i want to get 4 level 50s/ Ya there was no vault, or vehicle customization, or even alot of variety in any except for elementals or badasses, but overall it was a great game. And they are going to add alot of things in dlc's and i think there might be a sequel because i was talking to one of the devs and he said they might or might not, it all depends on the feed back they get.

Also to add alot of the things you listed they had ideas for similar things but they just didn't have the time to do everything they wanted, because the art style change was a huge time consumer. He said they had concepts for more enemies a almost 300 quest plot instead of the 90 quests they have, and a 4 person car, 2 person drag racer. He said a good amount of things but it was all about the time they needed the game done in.

There is alot of things i was they added, for one more unique guns, since alot of the guns are similar except for stats. Character customization , not make them look like ya but 10 or 20 shirt choices, same with paints and armor. But if they had more time there would be alot of things added to make it way better. all we can do is wait and see what they do. I will still play even though there is things i still want because its an awesome addicting game, especially the second play through.

Spoiler?

What spoiler?  The only thing I think he could have said that might be construed as a spoiler is "No vault" which I'm gonna tell you is untrue lol.  I think what he means is, no weapon storage/vault.  Not, no The Vault.

half-assed...

Am I the only one who thinks this game was half-assed. now before anyone flames me I just wanna say that the game was fun but only on a mindless shooting perspective. the whole game summed up is about the same as playing a never ending match on MAG: always a new objective but still all im doing is shooting. Dont get me wrong the game was wildly fun but the end was so anticlimactic that I literally almost broke my ps3. So everyone should play the game but be prepared to fight the lamest final boss any game ever has had to offer.

I know im going to get flamed but wait to flame me til after you beat the game.

Final boss is kinda lame, and

Final boss is kinda lame, and if you're over leveled from doing side quests, he's painfully easy too.

But I don't think this game was half-assed. It's definitely mindless killing, but what do you really want? I'm always searching for better loot and experience, I really don't care what I'm fighting or what I'm doing it for - I just want more guns!! If you're looking for a deep shooter, if there is such a thing, then this wasn't even an option from the get-go. I think Borderlands is all about the grind to find better gear which is fine by me.

This game is far from being

This game is far from being perfect. It has let me down in some ways, but it is certainly still one of the most fun games I have ever played. However, if Gearbox had made the game they originally described (not counting the change in art-style), then Borderlands would've been as close to perfect as it gets.

When the game was announced and had the article in Game Informer, but 500,000 weapons is what grabbed me the most. However, they also explained that the game was going to have one big, seamless open world, many different vehicles with thousands of parts to customize them with, and hundreds of thousands of armor pieces to customiz your character with. They changed all of this, essentially changing the entire structure of the game. These are all things I was really looking forward to.

But perhaps the thing that gets to me the most is the story, or lack thereof. The story in Borderlands had serious potential to be large and epic, but that was botched when Gearbox made the decision to make it simply an element that connects the tons of quests you do. I know Gearbox said they pushed the story to the back and had the gameplay take center stage, but really, a game like Borderlands can only benefit from having a great story. The world feels kind of empty too. When I first read about New Haven, I imagined it being a BIG city with a lot of inhabitants that you could interact with and would make the game world come to life. Now, New Haven in the game is beautifully designed and is one of my favorite locations, and granted, it does have some people, but they don't actually do anything and interaction with them is virtually non-existant. Even including things like having the quest-givers read the mission briefings to you or actually being able to buy supplies from the characters themselves instead of just vending machines for the whole game would have helped significantly. The thing is, Borderlands' world is richly detailed and designed, and you can tell that there are many things that we do not know about its history. I, for one, WANT to know these things. Rich and interesting lore is part of what makes a great RPG. One thing that Mass Effect did great is create this huge, giant universe that you really felt like a much smaller part of. Sure, it wasn't always presented in the most exciting way, but it was undeniably engaging. Sans the long and pointless dialogue trees, that's what I was originally looking for from Borderlands. There are other ways to effectively tell a great story and include lore without shoving it in the player's faces. If there is a Borderlands 2, (given how well this game is doing, it's very likely this will happen) I can only hope they fix this and make the world more interesting to be in.
