Why does every1 want to be Mordecai?

Lately i've noticed that the craze is all about mordecai, ya he is cool and all but i think most people want to be him for the wrong reason.
People i think are looking past the fact of strength in skills and abilities.
YA every1 wants to be the awesome sniper, but you should not choose him because that. that is why i want to know why you guys want to be him. Is it because you DO THINK HE IS COOL? or is it something other than that, because i truly want to know.
For me the reason i want to be Mordecai is i play COD 4 and i run around on 3/4 all the maps with sniper and pistol and rape, thats why i am choosing him, not because he cool, but because i am great with sniper and pistol only and its what i enjoy.
also everyone thinks he is really strong but i think people are not paying close enough attention. Roland has the ability to almost never die because of all the healing skills and abilities he has. Lilith has super strong magical attacks that is easily like a mage in a rpg game ( hint: mage usually the strongest fastest damage dealer). And Brick has an amazingly powerful melee ability that you could almost run around and one hit every1.
So the thing i don't understand is why Mordecai, ya he is cool, and has unique abilities like the rest, but he most likely isn't the strongest and especially if your not good with snipers, it will be hard to get CRITICAL HEAD SHOTS. So if you have a legitament reason you want to be or even if ya don't please tell me, i am all eyes. :)

Your probably right, i've learned from past incidence most people for with the word sniper in their Gamertag, PSN ID, or PC Nickname are terrible with snipers.

Well of course i am also going to max every char but starting with Mordecai, but you see what i am trying to say about using him for the wrong reason, there is nothing wrong with that, it is all fantasy and of course you want to be the BAMF as Hs honcho says, but if you arnt great with pistols or snipers, it most likely will be very difficult for ya.

meh
mordecai so far seems to be my least fav character. i like sniping, but only when im in a lazy mood, i dont wanna play a character that is screwed if he is largely outnumbered, i want a guy who can hold his own in combat, not support

I'm starting playing as
I'm starting playing as Mordecai because he seems to be very well rounded and good for looting which is what I want to do first and foremost. But also I'm getting it for PC so it's much easier to sniper and aim with the mouse than the clunky controller which gives me more incentive to pick the "bad@ss snpr lawl"

i can see your point in that he may be the coolest, and thats why everyone wants to be him. I will admit that when i first choose him it was cuz he had the bloodwing which is badass, but now that the skill trees are out im still confident in his ability to do well on his own. he has two second level skill that regenerate health, which is very good and puts the fact that he has less health in check, and he also has tresspass which lets him completely ignore sheilds if fully maxed so in big firefights he wont have to go through the sheilds and effectivly makes him twice as strong against human enemies. on top of that he has two skills that increse his damage done, deadly while it only increases critical damage combined with the focus skill allows you to do massive damage with criticals. (as long as you dont have shit accuracy). so using those combine with the killer skill allows you to keep a pretty big damage bonus not only in criticals, but also as long as you have killed someone in the last couple od seconds which helps with big firefights. also fast hands and loaded combine ensure that you can keep steady fast fire on your enemies without having to reload, and when you do reload its quick and you can get back to the shooty-shooty. along with putting a couple of points into the swift strike and bird of prey your bloodwing you can throw him out and quickly disperse a couple of enemies with a quick tap of a buttom, while the out for blood and swipe skills help regenerate a couple points of life and give you some more loot drops.
so in short mordi rules!!!!! and also having just typed that entire thing it makes me feel even better about choosing him :P ( i just thought about this stuff while typing)

Im playing as mord
Same here im good at sniping and I love long range combat, In most shooters I choice the sniper, But I also think mordecai is the most well rounded when it comes to most of the gun types My mord will be mostly focus around snipers and pistol, Im not to big on the bloodwing skill. But I will probably try out all the classes sometime later.
I myself am not being Mordecai, but at least half the people on this site will be, and I'm willing to bet that more than half of them are horrible snipers, sure some want him for the pistols but everyone wants to be him because of two things. 1. the bloodwing is supercool, and 2. he is a "BAMF".
