Funny you ask

I have an Emusic subscription and was just downloading some new stuff tonight. I like the Beatles, punk bands like Dropkick Murphys, and a mix of I guess what would be described as alternative bands.

When I have to focus on something I'll listen to classical music, particularly Bach or madrigals. (Don't beat me up).

It's almost entirely obscure

It's almost entirely obscure metal bands from Scandinavia... I'll just shotgun 50 interests and hope that someone has heard of at least one.

Adema, Alestorm, Angra, Apocalyptica, Avantasia, Axenstar, Black Majesty, Blind Guardian, Celesty, Dark Moor, DreamEvil, Dream Theater, DreamTale, Edguy, Elvenking, Epica, Evergrey, Evidence One, Excalion, Eyefear, Eyes of Eden, Firewind, Gamma Ray, Hammerfall, Heavenly, Iced Earth, Kamelot, Korpiklaani, Krypteria, Leaves' Eyes, Lordi, Manticora, Masterplan, Nightwish, Nocturnal Rites, Pain, Rhapsody of Fire, Sabaton, Savatage, Sepultura, Serenity, Silent Force, Sonata Arctica, Steel Attack, Stratovarius, Symphony X, The Receiving End of Sirens, Thunderstone, Twilightning, and WithinTemptation.

Those are just 50 of the bands I like. This list is all Proggressive/Power Metal with a good dose of Symphonic thrown in.

@L3vi

How did you get so much into Scandanavian music? You're from the U.S. right?

Yes, I am. It started when I

Yes, I am. It started when I found Kamelot (Technically, from Florida, but the lead singer is from Scandinavia). After falling in love with their music, I started looking for similar bands. It turns out that they're all pretty much from the same three countries. There are a few exceptions (Dark Moor = Spain, Dream Theatre/Kamelot = US, et al), but it's otherwise just a never-ending stream of awesome from the Arctic Circle. Some of the music, especially the Symphonic metal bands (i.e. Nightwish), might be a bit esoteric in taste, but I think it's about as great as rock can get.

I'm a bit of a music junkie.

And i still havnt really taken my "Dive" into music yet.
I've heard of Apocalyptica, Sepultra, Stratovarius (Been ages since i've heard someone else mention them...mmm strato)
And I've heard some Nightwish (need to get some more.) Also heard the names Within Temptation, and Manticora.

>.> Funny thing is, that's not even my preferred genre. I'm more into electronic music.....

Last tally my computer gave me of my music is...4,423 songs (Been putting off downloads of a ton of artists because i need to reorganize my stuff) 29.8GB of music, 2.3 weeks playing time (Albeit, I have about 6GB worth of DJ sets (Stuff a DJ would play at a club. a 60 minute track for instance =) ))

I spend a decent amount of time on www.last.fm, and have spent a ton of time on online electronic radio stations.

Which reminds me, I'll be DJing next Thursday at my college for a rave. Any good suggestions from the members here? =) My only requirements is that it's electronic/dance/pop, and that it's something people can dance to.
