Borderlands Roundup 10/8
Maximum PC interviews Randy Pitchford. On page 3 the back-and-forth gets heated as Randy takes a swipe at Steam.
Steam isn’t the answer. Steam helps us as customers, but it’s also a money grab, and Valve is exploiting a lot of people in a way that’s not totally fair. Valve is taking a larger share than it should for the service its providing. It’s exploiting a lot of small guys.
Valve created Steam because it felt that publishers were taking too big a cut of the pie for games they made. So they became the publisher by creating their own digital distribution platform. Now other developers are complaining that Valve is taking too much of the pie.
Never enough pie, am I right?
One of the regulars over at the official Gearbox forums made a Borderlands flash game. (Thanks Nailhead). I haven't had a chance to play but the consensus on the post seems to be that's its a bit buggy right now. Sounds like the maker has a bright future at any major game studio.
Speculation time: Iceman230 found a pic of what could be an alien gun.
One the video front, SlimItalian posted a new Borderlands video from Qore some days ago but I hadn't gotten around to mentioning it. I cannot fathom what trials and tribulations the brave SlimItalian faced to post the video on Youtube so take a look to reward his effort.

I saw in the interview a picture and mention of a "Shotgun that shoots flaming razorblades". It looks pretty sick!
Randy speaks the truth.
Flash game definitely needs some work.
I glitched through the floor twice and whenever I died the quests would get messed up, but I had a blast when it was working properly.
Needs the ability to fire at an angle :\
