Gearbox Comments On Recent Borderlands 2 Rumors

Gearbox Software President, Randy Pitchford, has quickly denied the recent rumors that the company is currently working on Borderlands 2.

A tweet from Superannuation (has been deleted) linked to a CV of a freelance artist who claims to have worked on "user interface concepts for Borderlands 2.'

Speaking with Eurogamer, Randy Pitchford immediately denied that he knew of the artist in question. He did not mention that the company will never make a sequel to Borderlands 2, but he did suggest that it won't be coming anytime soon.

"I can tell you that myself and everyone at Gearbox LOVES Borderlands and we have been absolutely thrilled at the reception it's gotten from our customers and the fact that it's sold over four million units now.

So you can see that we supported the game like mad with lots of great DLC and you can imagine that we're going to want to do a lot of things with Borderlands in the future.

But we've only announced what we've announced.

If we haven't announced it, it doesn't exist."

Gearbox Software is currently on the final stages of completing Duke Nukem Forever. It looks like Gearbox Software won't be announcing anything about Borderlands 2 yet until the company is finished with Duke Nukem Forever.

Bummer, I'm sure this game is coming but would still like to hear officially they've started the game.
