Release Date

Borderlands will be released in October 2009 for the PC, xBox 360 and PS3. The game will be shipped on October 20th in North America and on October 23rd for other countries. (See:"We Have A Borderlands Release Date!").

On September 22nd, Borderlands publisher 2k announced it was pushing back the release date of the PC version only until October 26th.

The game was originally slated for a late 2008 release but was delayed for about a year. One reason for the slower development was the game's radical graphical overhaul mid-development. Gearbox shifted the game's graphics from a realistic aesthetic to a more stylized look based on concept art.
